US Box Office Weekend 6 - 8 April 2018: A Quiet Place opens to $50 million

A Quiet Place
At the US box office this week John Krasinski directs himself and his wife Emily Blunt in the new number one film A Quiet Place.

The Film opens strong at the top of the US box office with a $50 million opening weekend which is one of the top openings for the horror genre.

A Quiet Place removed Ready Player One from the top after a single weekend, the Steven Spielberg film takes $25 million on its second weekend of release.

The VR sci-fi has now taken nearly $100 million in the US and will pass this milestone probably on Monday.

New at 3 is Blockers, the teen sex comedy which takes $21 million from the weekend.

Finishing off the top 5 is Black Panther at 4 which is now the third highest grossing movie in the US ever with $665 million and I Can Only Imagine at 5.
