This weekend saw Two By Two: Overboard! rebound back to the top of the Uk box office in a marketplace where only cinemas in Whales and Scotland were open with the lockdown in England still set to last another couple of weekends.

Highest new movie was the documentary Collective at number 3 while further down the box office The Kid Detective made a debut at number 7 with £1,478.

Here is the box office Quickview.

  • Number 1 - Two By Two: Overboard! (3rd weekend)
  • Highest debut - Collective (@3)
  • Longest run - 100% Wolf (14 weeks)*
  • Highest total gross - Tenet (£17,418,700)*
  • *Not including catalogue re-releases

Here is a rundown of the top 5 movies at the UK box office 20th - 22nd November 2020

Two By Two: Overboard!

Going back to the top of the UK box office after a couple of weekends away is the animated feature directed by Toby Genkel and Sean McCormack

On its 5th weekend of release, and its 3rd at the top the movie takes £3.422, 20% up from last weekend, for a total of £994,099, so close to a million!

The Secret Garden

Falling from the top, Marc Munden's retelling of the classic novel is at number 2 this weekend with £2,635.

The movie is down 49% from last weekend and has taken a total of £647,560 over 5 weeks of release.

Collective

Highest new movie of the weekend is this documentary by director Alexander Nanau which takes £1.926 on its debut.

Honest Thief

The Liam Neeson starring revenge thriller directed by Mark Williams falls to number 4 this week with £1,910, a 40% drop from last weekend giving the movie £659,443 over 5 weeks of release.

A Christmas Gift From Bob

Three weeks on the this little feel good movie from director Charles Martin Smith makes its way into the top 5.

The movie has climbed each week its been released and this week takes £1,757, only 5% down from last weekend.

The movie has now taken £6,075 after 3 weeks of release.

The good news is we got a box office chart this weekend, the bad news is only due to the lockdown effecting most of the UK only 22 cinemas were open and the top movie took most of its weekend gross from the previous weekend!

Documentary feature The Three Kings was the top movie of the weekend, it knocked off Two By Two: Overboard! to number 3, but the whole top 15 took just over £19,00.

Outside the top 5, sequel movie A Christmas Gift From Bob made its debut at 9 with £757.

Here is this weeks top 15 Quickview

  • Number 1 - The Three Kings (1st week)
  • Highest debut - The Three Kings (@1)
  • Longest run - Cats & Dogs: Paws Unite! (6 weeks)*
  • Highest total gross - Cats & Dogs: Paws Unite! (£1,375,548)*
  • *Not including re-releases

Here is a breakdown of the top 5 movies on the UK box office 6th - 8th November 2020

The Three Kings

The documentary feature from Jonny Owen makes its debut at number 1 with a weekend gross of £3,521, altohugh £3,470 was from preview screenings meaning it took £51 over the weekend which would have given Honest Thief the top position.

The film is about 3 of the greatest Scottish footballer managers of all time, and with most, if not all, cinemas in the UK allowed to open are in Scotland during the lockdown this is perhaps no surprise.

This is a number 1 due to extreme and unique circumstances, congratulations to Jonny Owen and the film makers for the number 1 but I suspect the movie will disappear next weekend.

Honest Thief

Jumping back up to number 2 is the Liam Neeson vehicle which takes £2,922 over the weekend, 98% down from last weekend which gives the movie a £651,408 total after 3 weeks.

Two By Two: Overboard!

Falling from the top to number 3 is the animated movies about animals on the ark which takes £2,374 over the weekend, 99% down from last weekend.

The animated feature has had a great box office run in the COVID-19 era and has not taken just under a million pound over 3 weeks.

Words On Bathroom Walls

Entering the box office at number 4 this weekend is director Thor Freudenthal movie which takes £1,709 on its debut weekend.

The Secret Garden

Adapted from the children's novel and starring starring Julie Walters, Colin Firth the movie drops to number 5 this weekend with £1,709, a 99% drop, which gives the movie a total gross of £664,051.
