Avatar: The Way of Water spends its 7th weekend at the top of the North American box office which equals that of the first Avatar movie.
The highest new movie of the weekend is the Indian movie Pathaan which makes its debut at 5 while Infinity Pool from director Brandon Cronenberg is new at 8 with $2.7 Million.
Also new this weekend is Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist at number 9 with $2.3 Million, The Wandering Earth 2 at 10 with $1.3 Million, Billie Eilish Live At the O2 at 11 with $1.29 Million and Fear~2023 at number 12 with $1.28 Million.
Finally there is a re-entry for the 11 times Oscar nominated movie Everything Everywhere All At Once at 13 with $1 Million taking its total gross to $71 Million over 29 weeks.
James Camerons sequel movie makes it 7 weeks at the top of the North American box office, the first movie to do this since the original Avatar in 2009/10.
The movie is still tracking ahead of Avatar and will likely finish above the original movie which sets up part 3 of the movie series to probably land in the $700 Million mark easily.
The sequel movie from the Shrek franchise remains at number 2 this weekend with $10.6 Million as it proves that the franchise is still alive and well.

In comparison to last Halloweens horror hit Smile~2022, that movie took $22 Million on its debut.

The movie has been getting very good reviews from critics and audiences and has taken $4.2 Million so far at the North American box office.
Dropping to number 4 this week as the movie starts its decent of the box office charts is the Marvel sequel movie to Black Panther which takes $3.3 Million on its 9th weekend, a 30% drop.
