Director Channing Godfrey Peoples's story of American Beauty Queen pageant is given a 15 age rating in the UK by the BBFC.

The movie was released in the US during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and did reasonably well considering it was only released in a handful of drive-in movie theatres.

The movie stars Nicole Beharie and Kendrick Sampson and has been critically praised, although movies that have strong American themes often dont do well in the UK.

Here is a breakdown of the BBFC ratings decision.

  • BBFC age rating: 15
  • Release date: 25th September 2020
  • Reason for certificate: strong language
  • Official runtime: 99 minutes (1 hour and 39 minutes)

The Movie was passed uncut.
