Second week of release for the Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 keeps it at the top with A Dogs Purpose coming in at 2 as the highest new film.

With a 50%+ drop in its weekend gross Guardians this week takes £6 million in its box office takings.

This takes the Chris Pratt starring movie to £27.4 million after 10 days of release, the film is current doing almost double the business of the original Guardians movie at this point.

Highest new film of the week is a little known comedy film called A Dogs Purpose, starring Dennis Quaid and directed by Lasse Hallstrom.

It was a US hit a month or so back and after taking £1.3 million on its debut is set to become a hit on this side of the Atlantic as well.

Also new this week is Sleepless at number 6, MIndhorn at number 8 and Unlocked at number 10, a low grossing top 10 this week means all these film took less than half a million on their debut.

This weeks longest stay on the chart is Get Out which has been around for 8 week while top new film is once again Beauty and The Beast which has now taken £71 million and is the 8th top film ever in the UK.

There were plenty of contenders this last weekend that tried to topple the Marvel film Doctor Strange but none were good enough so the good doctor spends another week at the top.

A weekend gross of £3.4 million takes the films total UK gross to £15.7 million, very good indeed and on course to be one of the better Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Coming in highest is The Accountant starring Ben Affleck, a debut weekend gross of £1.6 million brings it in at number 3.

There are 3 other new film this week, at 4 is a Street Cat Named Bob, at 5 is Nocturnal Animals and at number 6 is The Light Between Oceans.

Bridget Jones's Baby is the top total grossing film of the week with an incredible £46.1 million and its is also the longest running film at 8 weeks.

Fifteen years ago - The Others was new at the top of the chart, it knocked off American Pie 2 which fell to number 2.

This week marvel proved they can add new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in style by taking the latest addition to the top of the UK box office.

With a £9.2 million opening it is very good for a new IP in the Marvel series, in comparison Ant-Man made £4 million on its opening.

With Doctor Strange hitting the top, last week top film, Trolls, falls to number 2, a second weekend take of £3.5 million sees the film get to £ 14 million after 10 days.

Bridget Jones's Baby is the top total grossing film on the chart at the moment with £46.6 million and has out grossed all the other Bridget Jones films.

The BFG is the longest running film, the Steven Spielberg film has now been on the chart for 14 weeks.

This weekend Jack Reacher gave it a good go but in the end her was not good enough to stop the Trolls from hitting the top on its debut weekend.

The new IP from Dreamworks hits the top with a weekend gross of £5.4 million which is about average for an animation from the studio, Kung Fu Panda 3, the last film from them took £4.7 million on its opening.

If things go as usual Trolls could get somewhere in the £10 million mark especially with a fairly decent debut.

The Girl on The Train falls from the top this week after a couple of weekends at the top, a £2 million weekend takes the film to £17.7 million after 3 weeks of release.

Also new this week is Jack Reacher Never Go Back which lans in the runner up spot with £2.6 million, this is in the ballpark, but lower, of the first film with took £3.5 million on its debut.

Longest running film of the week is The BFG which has been around now for 13 weeks and the highest total grossing movie is Bridget Jones's Baby now on £44.5 million.
