UK box office top 5 weekend breakdown 18th - 20th March 2022

The Batman

Three weeks at the top of the UK box office for the Robert Pattinson starring Dark Knight movie which crosses the £30 Million mark this weekend with a total UK gross of £32.6 Million.

The movie took £3.5 Million over the weekend which is a steep 33% drop but it inline with other superhero movies.

It is now the top movie of 2022 in the UK having taken Sing 2 and its within reach of the UK top 100 movies ever.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie

The Japanese animated hot movie is the top new film of the weekend landing on the box office at number 2 with £825,529 including preview shows which brought in £307,860.

The movie was a big hit in Japan when it was released last December and the global figures for the movie are looking good where it has taken nearly $150 Million.

Uncharted

The video game adaptation falls to number 3 this weekend after 6 weeks on the chart with £605,722, a 43% drop over last weekend.

this gives the movie a total UK gross of £22.7 Million, it is currently the 4th top movie of 2022.

The Nan Movie

A new entry at number 4 this weekend, after a difficult production and a year long delay due to the pandemic the infamous Catherine Tate character comes to the big screen.

The movie lands with a gross of £565,340, and the movie also seems to have lost its director Josie Rourke after a series of reshoots.

Its been reported that the movie changed its narrative direction and is now more of a road movie between the character of Nan and her grandson, whereas the original cut was more of a origins movie, it seems it lost the original director credit in the process.

The Phantom of the Open

Another British produced movie about an ammeter golfer being entered into the Open, the movie which stars Mark Rylance makes its debut at number 5 with £456,829 of which £61,645 was from previews screens.
