Horror movie Sinners starring Micheal B. Jordan has been given a 15 age rating in the UK for strong bloody violence, gore, horror, language, sex, sex references, racism

Starring Micheal B. Jordan, the actor has also appeared in Pastor Brown and Black and White, the movie also stars Hailee Steinfeld who has been in movie such as True Grit~2011 and 3 Days to Kill.

Ryan Coogler directs the movie who has previously directed Black Panther and its sequel Black Panther Wakanda Forever.

Set in the US in the 1930s, twin brothers return to their hometown to make a fresh start but find sinister forces, both human and supernatural, awaiting them.

Marvel Studios release their latests blockbuster Black Panther Wakanda Forever which has been given a 12A rating in the UK for moderate violence, threat, injury detail The movie stars Tenoch Huerta who was last seen in The Forever Purge in 2021 and Letitia Wright who played Shuri in the last Black Panther and was also seen in Death on the Nile~2020 from earlier this year.

Like Black Panther the movie is directed by Ryan Coogler who is also known for directing the Rocky spin off movie Creed.

Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. Marvel and Disney have celebrated movies and going to the cinemas with a short video with new MCU phase 4 movies footage and announcements of 2 future movie titles.

Black Panther 2 gets an official title, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be out on July 8th 2022 and Captain Marvel 2 will be titled The Marvels and will come out November 11th 2022.

Also in the trailer was the first footage for Eternals which stars Angelina Jolie and is directed by recent Best Director Oscar Winner Chloé Zhao.

Finally there was a second confirmation that the MCU will get a Fantastic Four movie, made possible after the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney last year.

With the spike in COVID-19 cases in the US climbing higher than ever most states have decided to delay the opening of movie theatres so there is still no official chart and drive-ins are still a majority of the takings.

With that said the top film, for the second weekend running, is a classic re-release, this time it is the Star Wars sequel which is celebrating 40 years this year.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

First released back in 1980 the highly praised sequel, which to this day and 11 movies is still considered the best movie in the Star Wars world, hits the top of the box office again.

The movie takes $611K from its 611 theatre count, the movie has made ove $200 Million since release.

Black Panther

Getting another shot at a cinema release after its successful 2018 cinema run the Marvel movie takes $367K which boosts its US gross to just over $700 Million.

Inside Out

Pixars 2015 movie about the inner workings of the mind is at 3 this week with $340K and a $356 Million total.

Jurassic Park

Another re-released movie hitting the movie theatre is the 1993 mega smash from Steven Spielberg which amazingly still holds up nearly 30 years later.

The movie takes $224K which pushes its total gross to $405.1 Million.

The Goonies

Rounding out the top 5 is another classic movie this time from 1985 which takes $215K over the weekend to push its total US gross to $66.2 Million.

The Super Heroes of Avengers Infinity War and the all singing all dancing spectacular of Mamma Mia! Here we go again fought it out for the top film of 2018 at the UK box office.

Avengers Infinity War

The latest Avengers movie from the Disney Marvel Studios topped the yearly box offie chart on its release in April and never let go.

The film took an amazing £70 million in the UK over a 10 week stretch on the box office and is the 10th top film in the UK ever.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

The Sequel to 2008's top film could only manage 2nd place 10 years later although it gave the Avengers movie a run for its money.

The Super Trooper movie took £65.6 million over its 11 week run on the box office and its the 11th top film ever in the UK.

Incredibles 2

Still in sequel territory as Pixar released a follow up to their 2004 original which took £55.9 million at the UK box office over its 14 week run.

Black Panther

Released at the beginning of the year before Avengers Infinity War this Marvel movie set the tone and if the 4th top film of 2018.

The film took £50 million at the UK box office over its 12 week run.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Maybe a bit of a suprise this one, the Bryan Singer directed Queen/Freddy Mercury bio-pic is the fifth top grossing film of the year.

With a UK gross of £46 million over its 9 week (and counting) box office run it is also the directors top grossing UK film.

The story of 2018 in the UK is that it bucked the trend a little from the rest of the world and we didn't just go mad for super hero movies, we like our musicals, The Greatest Showman despite being a 2017 took £41 million in 2018 and Bohemian Rhapsody has plenty of music in it.
