Maverick director Paul Thomas Anderson chose a couple of upcoming stars for his latest movie which is a coming of age love story set in 1973 which has been given a 15 age rating.
The movie stars Alana Haim as the 25 year old love interest of Cooper Hoffman with help from Sean Penn and Tom Waits.
The movie is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson who is best known for his fantastic observation of the porn industry in Boogie Nights.

Is it a sequel or a remake? 24 years after the original Space Jam which starred Micheal Jordon comes the follow up which has been given a U rating in the UK by the BBFC.
The movie stars among other basketball legend LeBron James and Boogie Nights star Don Cheadle.
The movie is directed by Malcolm D. Lee who also directed The Best Man from 1999.

With nothing moving inside the top 5 this wekend the Disney movie Raya and the Last Dragon spends week number 2 at the top of the North America box office.
With the rest of the top 5 staying the same to top new movie is at number 6 in the shape of Indian movie Jathi Ratnalu which makes its debut with $470,00.

US box office top 5 breakdown 12th - 14th March 2021
Second weekend at the top for Disney's latest movie which takes $5.5 Million, a very respectable 36% lower than last weekend.
This takes the movie to $15.83 Million after 10 days of release, not bad considering the movie is on Disney+ (with a premium price tag).
The live action, cartoon mix which has proved to be a pandemic hit takes $4.1 Million this weekend, 38% down on the previous weekend.
This gives the movie a total US gross is $28 Million after 3 weeks of release.
Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley star in the movie staying put at number 3 this week which takes $2.25 Million on its second weekend of release, a quite large 41% lower than last weekend.
The movie has now taken $6.91 Million from its 2 weekends of release.
Staying put at number 4 is the Eddie Huang directed movie about a basketball prodigy which takes $730,000 over the weekend, 39% down.
The movie has not taken $2.27 Million after 2 weekends of release.
Longest running and highest total grossing movie of the week sits at number 5 this week with $520,000, 33% down, for a total of $54,3 Million after 16 weeks on the box office.
Disney release their latest animated adventure Raya and the Last Dragon on cinemas and on Disney+ premium and score a number 1 hit movie, despite the debut weekend gross being a little lower than maybe expected.
Last weeks top movie, Tom & Jerry: The Movie, falls to number 2 after its successful debut last weekend and also on the top 5 there are new releases for Chaos Walking and Boogie.
Worthy of note this week is the drop of The War With Grandpa out of the top 15 movies, the film has been a long stay during the COVID-19 pandemic and spent 21 weeks on the chart, this week its at 17 with $20 Million total gross.

This weeks US box office top 5 breakdown 5th - 7th March 2021
Disney return to releasing movies at the US box office, despite it also being on Disney+, and score a number 1 hit, the Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina voiced movie takes $8.6 Million on its debut.
Kidpics have been the mainstay of the pandemic era with The War With Grandpa, The Croods: A New Age and last weeks top movie Tom & Jerry: The Movie all doing well, and with spring break on the doorstep this could do well as a return for Disney.
Falling to number 2 this weekend the cat and mouse movie has done very well for itself, especially considering its also available on HBO Max, this week it takes $6.6 Million, a 56% drop from last weekend.
The movie has taken $23 Million at the US box office and is the third top grossing movie of 2021 so far!
Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley return to the big screen in this sci-fi movie that has been critically panned but still lands at number 3 this week with a gross of $3.8 Million.
Directed by Doug Liman the movie is available on streaming and I suspect wont be a long stay at the box office.
Directed by Eddie Huang this story of a basketball prodigy lands at number 4 this weekend with a debut gross of $1.2 Million.
Falling to number 5 this weekend is the animated sequel movie which takes $780,000 on its 15th weekend of release, only 38% down from last weekend, giving it a $53.6 Million total.
