The new trailer for the Matt Reeves directed The Batman has finally dropped and it looks absolutely epic.

Little is known about the plot at the moment but the trailer ticks all the boxes, we see Batman, we see The Riddler, we see Catwoman and The Penguin, but most of all we see Gotham City.

The movie stars Robert Pattinson as The Batman with Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell and Zoe Kravitz to name just a few of the all star cast.

The movie has been movies a few time but its currently locked in to 4th March 2022 in a global release.

As expected the first trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has gone live on iTunes. The Hobbit, in case you don't know, is the prequel to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy that director Peter Jackson brought to the big screen in the early 2000's.

The production has had a difficult time but destiny chose Peter Jackson to direct the movies which are shooting in New Zealand probably as we speak. The first of the 2 films is probably the most anticipated film of next year (sorry Batman).

Of course the good thing about Jackson returning as director is that the connection between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings couldn't be stronger and most of the cast from the original films are back, and to open up this teaser we have Ian Holm, the original Bilbo Baggins doing a voice over. The trailer certainly ticks all the boxes, we see Frodo (Elija Wood), we see Bilbo young and old (young played by Martin Freeman who looks incredible) we see Gandolf (Ian McKellen) looking the same as he did in the Rings Trilogy. We get introduced to all the gang that will be in the new film, accompanied by a song!

What astounds me the most is that besides some clear productions values what will get sorted before release this just simply looks like it could have been part of the original Trilogy, it's simply that good. To top things off we get to see briefly the Ring from the original series and Golum. Watch it, it's great, and there is only a year before we get to see the full feature. One of the big films that will be released this Christmas has today had it's first trailer released, the Tom Cruise staring next installment of the Mission: Impossible series gives us a taste of what we'll be enjoying this yuletide.

The trailer ticks all the right boxes, world famous buildings exploding, Your Mission should you choose etc., more explosions, fighting, Simon Pegg, lots of mystery, Eminem soundtrack, the famous music and our Tom hanging of the tallest building in the world.

The series has proved itself so far (even with a dodgy second installment) and this should fit in nicely.

Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol is out on December 16th this year.

This is an odd one, Amazon is all set to buy LOVEFiLM, a move Amazon is making to get ahead in the European market of DVD/Blu-ray/online streaming services before the American giant Netflix gets a chance. But why is it an odd move?

There have been a number of online postal rental movie services in the UK from Screen Select to LOVEFiLM of which LOVEFiLM has eventually become the biggest, mainly by acquiring all the others, although in reality LOVEFiLM is actually Screen Select, when the merger of the two companies happened the Screen Select management team stayed in place with their systems but they thought the LOVEFiLM name was better.

Included in the many companies that offered online postal DVD rentals was Amazon, a service which was very good, much better than LOVEFiLM, but after only a couple of years LOVEFiLM bought the rental only service from Amazon, but Amazon became a major stakeholder in LOVEFiLM.

Now the whole story has gone full circle and Amazon will own the company outright, what I would like to see is the service integrated back into the Amazon website.

Amazon are making the right move, LOVEFiLM is now streaming on the PS3 and before long I can see it happening on many other devices, Apple TV maybe, Freeview HD boxes, and the killer, directly to TV's, Sony produce a lot of TV's and the relationship is already in play through the PS3.

It's a smart move for Amazon and one, which I am sure, will finally put the old high street movie rental stores into history, sorry Blockbuster we will remember you fondly but I think your time is up.

I just checked out the new Iron Man 2 trailer, and for a film that I thought was going to be another Iron Man, this is actually looking good.

The first film although fun was basically just another super hero movie that ticked all the right boxes. The inevitable sequel was to follow after the amount of money it made and as always with sequels the ante had to be upped.

Bring in Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow for a bit of glamour and Mickey Rourke as the bad guy and suddenly things are starting to look a whole lot better.

The second trailer for the film shows a lot of promise, Mickey Rourke's Whiplash is quite wonderfully shown off in the trailer and there is just enough of Scarlett Johansson to seriously whet the appetite.

And this is ignoring the fact that there is also glimpses of Samuel L. Jackson which is always enough to make a trailer worth watching.
