$5.9 Million Growing from the success of last years Wicked~2024, Wicked for Good tops the UK box office chart with a bigger opening than last years first movie.
The movie last year opened with just over £13.5 Million whereas the sequel (or part 2) opens this holiday season with an amazing £18.8 Million, making it the second largest November opening behind 2022's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but only just!
The box office, which has been on a low for the last few weeks, was ready for a big blockbuster movie, the next new release on the chart this week is Sisu: Road to Revenge at number 11 with holdover movies filling in the rest.
Last weeks top movie Now You See Me: Now You Dont falls to number 2 and has taken £4.3 Million so far in the UK.
Highest new movie this weekend
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson One Battle After Another tops the UK box office on its first week of release in a fairly quiet marketplace.
The movie tops with a debut gross of £2.4 Million which in a market which is full of holdover movies and no big blockbusters is a good.
Last weeks top movie falls to number 3 this weekend as Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale gives up the top spot after 2 weeks, the movie has taken £13.4 Million in the UK to date.
After 5 years on Streaming the on screen version of the hit stage show Hamilton~2020 from Disney gets a box office debut where is enters the box office at number 2 with £1.7 Million - a cinema ticket being far cheaper than a theatre ticket!

The Roses, a make of The War of the Roses, starring Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch makes its debut a the top of the Uk box office this weekend with a £2.1 Million gross.
The current period of late summer into autumn is proving a very quiet period for the box office, last weekend was the lowest total gross for the top 15 in many a month and this weekend is only slightly higer.
Coming in at number 2 is the 50th Anniversary re-release of Steven Spielbergs classic blockbuster Jaws which takes £1.1 Million over the weekend.
Weapons~2026 falls to number 3 this weekend but is still pulling in the audiences with a slender 27% drop and has taken over £10 Million after 4 weeks.

A very quiet weekend at the UK box office has Weapons~2026 remain at the top for a third weekend in a row with a £1.1 Million weekend gross.
The movie has become a surprise big box office hit and has a total UK gross of £8.6 Million.
Which much of the top 5 staying in the same place this weekend the highest new movie is at number 6 with The Life of Chuck taking £486,294 on its debut.
Worth noting is the this weeks top 15 is one of the lowest weekend total for many weekend with little in the way of big blockbuster movies getting released, and summer holdovers like Superman~2025 and The Fantastic Four First Steps simply not bringing in the numbers.
