Growing from the success of last years Wicked~2024, Wicked for Good tops the UK box office chart with a bigger opening than last years first movie.

The movie last year opened with just over £13.5 Million whereas the sequel (or part 2) opens this holiday season with an amazing £18.8 Million, making it the second largest November opening behind 2022's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but only just!

The box office, which has been on a low for the last few weeks, was ready for a big blockbuster movie, the next new release on the chart this week is Sisu: Road to Revenge at number 11 with holdover movies filling in the rest.

Last weeks top movie Now You See Me: Now You Dont falls to number 2 and has taken £4.3 Million so far in the UK.

The Roses, a make of The War of the Roses, starring Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch makes its debut a the top of the Uk box office this weekend with a £2.1 Million gross.

The current period of late summer into autumn is proving a very quiet period for the box office, last weekend was the lowest total gross for the top 15 in many a month and this weekend is only slightly higer.
