Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness

It feels like a story we have told many time, but a new Marvel movie is released and there is a big surge in the box office and we have a massive hit at the top.

The sequel to Doctor Strange has been a long time coming as the original was released in 2016, but the character has appeared in many Marvel film since then, including quite predominantly in last years Spider-Man: No Way Home for which is a spiritual successor.

The movie makes its UK debut with £19.7 Million, a staggering 82% of the box office this weekend, which is £10 Million more than its 2016 predecessor but it is way shorted than the £31.8 Milion of the last Spider-Man movie.

The road ahead is looking good for the movie, it will beat out the DC movie The Batman from earlier this year, and it has a shot at being the top movie of 2022, altohugh there are a number of high profile movie yet to come including Jurassic World: Dominion in June.

The movie already is the 6th top movie of 2022 on its debut and look set to at least climb into the top 3 by next weekend.

Downton Abbey: A New Era
