There have been many film adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs creation Tarzan and this week the latest version enters at the top of the home video chart in the UK.
This version was released in cinemas on 8th July 2016 where it entered at number 2, beaten by The Secret Life of Pets on its 3rd week at the top.
The Legend of Tarzan took £3.5 million on its opening weekend and spent 5 weeks on the UK top 15, it then spent another 7 weeks in Uk cinemas before disappearing.
During that time it took a non too shabby £9.2 million, also the film didn't do too bad on the global stage taking £356.6 million.
Last weeks top film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of The Shadows, falls quite hard down to number 5 this week after a single week at the top.
Also making its debut on the chart this week is: Supersonic at number 2 and Central Intelligence at number 3.
Also making a re-entry at number 4 thanks to a new version of the Blu-ray is Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
This week on the US box office The Secret Life of Pets managed to make it 2 weeks at the top of the box office, this week beating the Ghostbusters re-boot on its debut.
Pets made $50,5 million on its second weekend of release which brings its total after 10 days of release to $203.1 million.
The film is looking very strong and with the American school holidays in full swing this could be the one to beat this summer season.
Paul Feigs Ghostbusters reboot couldn't quite make it to the top on its debut and fell into second place with $46 million including preview shows on Thursday night.
This isn't at all bad and would have topped had it not been for the strength of Pets, good reviews have helped and it should hang around for the summer season.
Also new this week is The Infiltrator at number 8 which debuts with $5.2 million.
Highest total grossing film in America on the top 10 is Finding Dory which is at number 4 this week with a gross of $445.5 million while the longest running film is shared with Dory and Central Intelligence.
Despite competition from the British beloved comedy that is Ab Fab, The Life of Pets remains at the top of the UK box office for a second weekend.
In its second weekend The Life of Pets takes a gross of £4.7 million, this brings the films total gross to an very good £16.6 million after 2 weeks, the films weekly gross is over £7 million.
Highest new entry of the week in Absolutely Fabulous The Move which makes its debut at number 2, a weekend gross of £4.02 million.
The film version of the British comedy comes nearly 25 years after the TV series started on BBC and amazingly it still has all the original cast including leads Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders.
A good run should be in order for the film although as is often the case with TV to movie adaptation it will probably spend a lot of time in cinemas but out of the charts.
Also new this week is Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in Central Intelligence which is new at 3.
Highest total grossing and longest running movie on the box office this week once again is The Jungle Book which over 12 weeks has grossed £47 million.
