Marvel and Disney have celebrated movies and going to the cinemas with a short video with new MCU phase 4 movies footage and announcements of 2 future movie titles.
Black Panther 2 gets an official title, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will be out on July 8th 2022 and Captain Marvel 2 will be titled The Marvels and will come out November 11th 2022.
Also in the trailer was the first footage for Eternals which stars Angelina Jolie and is directed by recent Best Director Oscar Winner Chloé Zhao.
Finally there was a second confirmation that the MCU will get a Fantastic Four movie, made possible after the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney last year.
As predicted with the surge in COVID-19 cases in the US, the big movie of the holiday season, Wonder Woman 1984, will debut on steaming and cinema on the same day.
The Patty Jenkins directed movie will get the duel release in the US with no word yet on if the Boxing Day release in the UK is changing or a streaming option will be in place as well.
The movie has been changed from earlier in 2020 to later in 2020 a couple of time finally settling for a Christmas release.
With COVID-19 cases on the increase in the US and the UK on a lockdown until early December Warner Bros. have decided to dual release it.
With a vaccine almost imminent this could be perhaps the last big film to get this type of release, altohugh with Universal seemingly a fan of short release windows who know, but thats a story for another day.
Can we say cinemas as we know and love it has died yet?
**UPDATE** It looks like the UK release has been brought forward and will be released in cinemas on December 16th.
For the first time ever, #WonderWoman1984 will release in theatres and stream exclusively on @HBOmax* on December 25. - - *Available on HBO Max in the US only at no extra cost to subscribers. pic.twitter.com/bU1Lmg5YDA

Warner Bros. have announced that the much anticipated Zack Snyder version of the DC universe Justice League will get a release on HBO Max in 2021.
It has become movie folk law that the version of Justice League that was released in 2017 was directed by Zack Snyder but due to personal reason he left the project before reshoots and editing and Joss Wehdon finished the movie.
When released the film was met with muted reviews, with some fans even hating the movie.
Since then there has been first rumours then evidence, then sort of confirmation that a version of the movie exists that was finished by Snyder himself.
A social media campaign has been going since to #releasethesnydercut appearing in the trending box on twitter on regular occations.
HBO Max is a new streaming service coming on May 27th, and here we are a week before the launch and Warner Bros. announces the almost legendary film will show on the service in 2021.
The news was given during an on-line participation by Snyder on Man Of Steel and it was received with massive appreciation from fans.
This is an interesting move and perhaps not a good one, with cinemas across the globe closed and wondering if they will ever recover this could have been a nice shot in the arm the industry may need.
Instead it will go to the platform which is in the short term going to damage the cinema industry, I hope we never get to a point when we don't have movie theatres to go to.
I know this is one of those events we knew was coming, and sooner rather than later and ign.com have now got virtual confirmation from Lucasfilms Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet that a Blu-ray box set of all 6 films has been in the works for a couple of years now.
He does say that this isn't the long rumored and fast becoming legendary Ultimate box se but Sansweet says ”We have been at work for a couple of years working on—I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff—but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material. We're finding all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before. Beyond all of those things that you know about… there are some real treasures.”, so after this we can expect even more, probably on the next media format if there is one.
So what's the date for this? Soon can mean years down the line in Blu-ray production time, but the American site The Digital Bits is reporting that it has been told by it's industry insiders of an October 2011 date has been quietly on the slate for a while.
It's no surprise that we will have a high def version of the Star Wars films sometime in the future to add to the Betamax, VHS (multiple versions) and both version on DVD, and come late 2011 seems a reasonable time scale for the films, lets hope this is it, or will the touted 3D version be with us by 2012, good job we love these films.
