Animated feature The Super Mario Bros. Movie has remained at the top of the US box office for a second weekend and in the process has overtaken Avatar: The Way of Water as the top grossing movie in 2023.

Highest new movie of the weekend comes in at number 2 as Russell Crowe stars in the horror movie The Popes Exorcist while also inside the top 5 at number 4 is the Nicholas Hoult and Nicholas Cage starring Renfield

Making its debut at number 7 is Mafia Mamma which has a gross of $2 Million and Nefarious is new at 9 with $1.3 Million.

Coming in at number 11 is Sweetwater which takes $350,000 on its debut and Beau Is Afraid is new at 13 on limited release with $320,396, the movie goes wide this coming Friday.
