Synopsis for Saw X
Set between the events of Saw and Saw II, a sick and desperate John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer - only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged and ingenious traps.

Chris Rock stars in and produces the new film from the Saw series which today gets a new trailer, this time taking a more serial killer drama vibe than the hack and slash of the previous film.

As the movie turns away from the previous series which lasted for 6 movies, a 3D finale and then the stand alone movie Jigsaw, this looks to be a more serious movie in the vein of director David Fincher's Seven from 1996.
In the new trailer we get to see Chris Rock flexing his acting muscles and we also get our first proper showing of Samuel L, Jackson who plays an ex-cop and Rocks dad.
The movie is set for release on 21st May 2021 in the UK and a week earlier on 14th May in America.
With very good reviews from critics, good pre launch buzz and part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe there was never any doubt that Thor: Ragnarok was going to have a huge debut at the US box office.
That debut was to the tune of $121 million which means the film starring Chris Hemsworth is the 7th biggest opening for an MCU film.
To round out the numbers its also the 17th number one film from the Disney series and the 8th which has delivered a $100 million plus opening, it beats Spiderman Homecoming from earlier this year.
With Thor out of the way last weeks halloween hit Jigsaw, as expected, falls hard this week and ends up at number 3 with $6.7 million, its total US gross now sits just below $30 million.
Also new on the US box office this week is A Bad Moms Christmas, maybe a little early for people to be thinking of the Christmas season but the film makes a very impressive debut at 2 with $17 million.
Longest running film on the US top 10 is Blade Runner 2049 which clocks up 5 weeks and with its impressive $122 million debut Thor: Ragnarok is the highest grossing movie on the chart, it has been a very slow second half to the year, until now.
