$114.9 Million There were no major new releases across the globe this weekend which gave Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore a chance to spend a third weekend at the top of the global box office.
Top new movie of the weekend is The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent which makes its debut at number 7 with $8.9 Million from 21 countries.
Global box office top 5 weekend breakdown 15th - 18th April 2022
Three weeks at the top for the third in the Fantastic Beasts series as the movie takes $52.3 Million from 68 countries this weekend which is a 54% drop over last week.
The movie has now taken $280 Million from its global release, the lowest of the series and it is the 6th top movie of 2022.
The video game sequel movie climbs back to number 2 this weekend with a take of $34..2 Million from 58 countries, a 38% drop over last weekend.
The movie has now taken $287.8 Million globally which is a tiny bit ahead of the first Sonic the Hedgehog, and its the 6th top movie of 2022.
The animated smash hit movie takes $29.8 Million this weekend from 52 countries, an excellent 78% increase over last weekend, but it got its North American release and hit the top spot.
The movie has now taken $87.1 Million globally after 6 weeks of release.
The Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum action comedy remains at number 4 this weekend with $21.4 Million from 59 countries, an incredible 23% increase, giving the movie a total gross of $128 Million after 5 weeks of release.
Falling 73% on its second weekend is the Indian hot movie which takes $19.7 Million from 20 countries as it falls from 2 to number 5, the movie has taken $114 Million globally.
It was a tight battle at the top this weekend but The Lost City~2022 just about does enough to make its debut at the top of the UK box office.
The Northman also makes a new entry at number 4 while Operation Mincemeat is also new at 5, also making their debuts are K.G.F: Chapter 2 at 7 with £612,327 and Beast~2022 at 8 with £319,464, finally director Paul Verhoeven's Benedetta is new at 11 with £62,056.
UK box office top 5 weekend breakdown 15th - 18th April 2022
After a weekend full of new releases the Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum starring action comedy makes its UK box office debut at the top.
The movie takes £2.7 Million on its UK debut, this higher than Tatums hit movie Dog from earlier this year but half that of Bullocks last cinema film Ocean's 8 from 2018.
The movie has been a hit across the globe with the UK one of the last countries to get the movie, but with a number of high profile movies coming in the next few weeks this could be a short stay for the movie.
It was a tight margin between this and The Lost City~2022 at number 1 but the third Fantastic Beasts movie fell just short of a second weekend at the top.
With a gross of £2.6 Million, 55% down on its debut last weekend, and despite not doing that bad it is well short of the previous two movies Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the series has simply not had the impact of the Harry Potter series.
The movie is the 7th top grosser of 2022 and there is every possibility it could return to top next weekend.
THe video game star falls to number 3 this weekend with £2 Million, a 29% drop over last weekend giving the blue hedgehog a total UK gross of £16 Million after 3 weeks and the 5th top movie of 2022.
Highly praised by critics the Nordic action movie directed by Robert Eggers and starring Alexander Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman lands at number 4 this weekend.
The movie takes £897,737 on its debut weekend.
Finally on the top 5 is another new entry with the Colin Firth starring movie which is at 5 with a debut gross of £895,008, a small margin separated this and The Northman!
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore makes its debut at the top of the US box office with the lowest debut for the series so far.
Father Stu is also new at number 5 this weekend while Indian movie K.G.F: Chapter 2 is also new at 9 with $2.8 Million.
Finally Dual starring Karen Gillan makes its debut at number 12 with $125,000 over the weekend.
US box office top 5 weekend breakdown 15th - 18th April 2022
This third in the Wizarding World series of movies makes a soft debut at the top of the US box office chart this weekend with $43 Million.
Compared to the last movie in the series Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald this is $20 Million lower and compared to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is it $30 Million lower.
The Fantastic Beasts series has never hit the heights of Harry Potter, but with the controversy and difficult production of this series many critics are declaring this should be the last one and quit while your ahead.
Falling into second place this weekend is the blue video game hedgehog which takes $30 Million on its second weekend of release, a hefty 58% drop over last weekend.
The movie has taken a nice $119.6 Million after 2 weeks of release which is higher than Sonic the Hedgehog from 2020.
The movie is the 4th top movie of 2022 to date.
Falling a single place to 3 this weekend is the Sandra Bullock starring action comedy which takes $6.5 Million this weekend, 29% down.
This takes the movies total gross to $78.5 Million total after 4 weeks and its the 7th top movie of 2022.
Jumping up the box office to number 4 this weekend after being available in many more cinemas is the Michelle Yeoh starring alternate reality movie which takes $6.1 Million on its 4th weekend, a 2% increase over last week.
This gives the movie a very respectable $17.6 Million total, which could climb higher as it expands to more cinemas and is getting good critical word of mouth.
Finally in the top 5 is another new movie as Mark Wahlberg joins in Daddy's Home 2 co-star Mel Gibson in this comedy which takes $5.7 on its debut weekend.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore goes ultra wide this weekend in 67 countries and climbs to the top of the global box office on its second weekend of release.

The movie takes $114 Million on its second weekend which gives the film a total global gross of $193.4 Million, a 49% increase, a worrying 2 week gross for the troubled Wizarding World series.
The movie is the 9th top film of 2022 so far, but with the mixed critical reviews and tepid word of mouth this could be the first 'flop' for the series.
A sequel to the 2019 movie K.G.F: Chapter 1 which took $6 Million globally gets released in 19 countries this week and lands on the global box office at number 2 making it the highest new movie.
Taking an incredible $72.3 Million on its debut this is the second Indian movie to gain global success in recent weeks.
Falling from the top to number 3 this weekend is the video game sequel movie which takes $55 Million from 55 countries, a 49% drop over last weekend.
