$123 Million Released in the US this weekend, Friday, 3rd October 2025, there are 4 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace One Battle After Another from the top of the North American box office.
As well as the movies released in cinemas this weekend this list also includes a number of the top movies released on streaming platforms.

The Disney film The Lion King continues to rule to global box office with a mammoth weekend gross and Chinese film Ne Zha makes its debut at number 2.
THe Disney live action remake spends its 3rd weekend on the global box office and takes $218.3 Million from 54 countries.
This pushes the films total global gross to $962.6 Million meaning the film will make it past the Billion mark next weekend.
The Chinese animation hit the box office this week nad took $83.1 Million ($92.2 including previews) from just the single country.
This makes the film the highest grossing debut in China for an animated movie beating Zootopia which held the record previously.
Maverick director Quentin Tarantino brings his new film to the global box office and after good reviews scores his biggest debut to date.
The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt took $40.3 Million from just the single country of release, America.
The Marvel web slinger movie from Sony took $33.2 Million from 8 countries this weekend on its 5th weekend of release.
This pushes the film past the magic $1 Billion mark on the global box office and its the 9th Marvel film to do this, the third this year alone.
Finishing of the top 5 this week is the Pixar animation which take $29.2 Million from 41 countries on its 6th weekend.
This puts the Toy Story sequel at $917.9 Million.
The Chinese film is at number 6 this week with a total gross of $107.6 Million pushing the film past the $100 Million global mark.
Sitting at number 7 this week is the Disney live action film which this week passes the $1 Billion mark at the global box office.
Danny Boyle's Beatles homage is at number 9 this week and with a total global gross of $109.6 Million goes past the $100 Million mark at the global box office.
The live action version of The Lion King moves to the top of the global box office on its second weekend of release as the film hits cinemas across the globe.
The film hit the global box office last week at number 3 with its Chinese release but this week with a global release the film easily hits the top of the box office.
Released in 53 countries the Jon Favreau directed film takes $454 Million to climb to number one which gives the film a $531 Million total gross.
Falling to number 2 on its 4th weekend of release the Spidey movie takes $58.2 Million from 68 countries.
This pushes the film total global gross to $970.7 Million which means the film could well pass the Billion dollar mark by next weekend.
The Animated movie falls to 3 this week with a weekend gross of $40.4 Million from 45 countries which pushes the film total gross to $859.4 Million.
This Chinese film is released in just 2 countries but this week makes it global box office debut at number 4 with $37.6 Million.
This gives the film a new total global gross of $61.1 Million.
Falling to number 5 on its 3rd weekend of release the Chinese film takes $15.6 Million from 8 countries for a global total of $174.5 Million.
Outside the chart the Marvel Studios mega hit takes over the crown from Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time.
The films global gross this weekend went to $2.790 Billion which beats Avatars $2.789 Billion by a slim margin but its an all important slim margin, it has taken 12 weeks to get to this amazing milestone.
The sequel/reboot (never know what to call these things these days) of 1964's Mary Poppins gets a relase this Christmas starring Emily Blunt and called Mary Poppins Returns.
Disney have today released the first teaser trailer and on the positive they really have captured the feel and spirit of the era.
Emily Blunt certainly looks the part so things are looking up, on the negative side the last time a big budget film had returns is the title is was preceded by Superman!
There is also a new poster which is an extreme closeup of Blunt as Poppins.
