UK Box Office Weekend Report 10th - 12th March 2023: Scream 6 is the top new movie and makes its debut with £3 Million over the weekend Scream VI makes its debut a the top of the UK box office with a £3 Million debut when including Thursday previews, on the Friday to Sunday chart it enters at 2 with £2,4 Million leaving Creed III at the top.
Also making its debut this weekend is 65 which is new at number 3 while outside the top 5 is Champions~2023 at number 9 with £376,816 and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar at 9 with £194,217.
Highest new movie this weekend
A year after the previous installment of the long running Scream~1997 franchise comes the sixth release in the series which makes its debut with £3 Million which is the second highest of the series.
The sequel movie from the Rocky franchise falls to number 2 this weekend with £2.7 Million giving the movie a nearly £10 Million total.
The latest movie from Star Wars actor Adam Driver makes its debut at 3 with a debut gross of £1.2 Million.
The Puss In Boots sequel is still doing well on the UK box office and 6 weeks on the movie is at number 4 with a weekend gross of £902,867.
Starting its decent down the charts is the Ant-Man sequel movie from the greater MCU which is now 4 weeks on the box office and has a total gross of £18 Million.
Continuing the legacy of the Rocky movies, Creed III tops the UK box office this weekend as it makes its debut in cinemas.
Also making its debut on this weeks box office chart is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - To the Swordsmith Village which comes in at number 6 with just over £500,00 and Heaven In Hell at number 10 with £146,318 and finally Close~2022 at number 11 with £128,208.
Highest new movie this weekend
Making its debut at the top of the UK box office is the third installment of the Creed franchise of movie, which itself is a spin off from the Rocky series of movies.
The series has got better and better with each movie and this one which is a directorial debut for star Micheal B Jordan makes its debut with kist over £5 Million.
Dropping to number 2 this weekend after a couple of weeks at the top is the sequel to Ant-Man and the Wasp which adds £1.4 Million to its UK total.
5 weeks on and the Puss in Boots sequel falls to number 3 with a weekend gross of £1.1 Million giving the movie a fantastic total of £22 Million.
Dropping to number 4 this week after making its debut at number 3 is the Elizabeth Banks directed movie about a bear who accidentally takes an overdose of cocaine.
The British romantic comedy starring Lily James and directed by Shekhar Kapur falls to number 5 this weekend after making its debut last weekend at number 4.
Two weeks at the top of the UK box office this weekend for Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania while Cocain Bear is the top new movie.
Also new this week is What's Love Got to Do With It at number 4 and Broker at number 8 with £150,178, while finally at number 15 is Joyland with £61,461.
No move at the top for the Marvel, phase 5, sequel movie to Ant-Man which takes £2 Million on its second weekend, a bigger than expected 65% drop over last weekend.
The sequel movie from the Shrek universe stays put at number 2 on its 4th weekend and takes £1.7 Million in the process pushing the movie to £20 Million in total at the UK box office.
Highest new movie this weekend
The highest new movie of the weekend is from director Elizabeth Banks, and the last movie that veteran actor Ray Liotta made before his sad passing last year.
The movie takes an impressive £1.5 Million on its debut but it wasn't enough to dent the powerhouse that is becoming Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and Puss In Boots: The Last Wish at the top.
A new romantic comedy from the UK which seems to be a recipe for success after the likes of Last Christmas and Four Weddings and a funeral.
This new movie starring Lily James, and the obligatory Emma Thompson takes just over one million pound on its debut.
Falling to number 5 this week is the sequel movie from the Magic Mike series which take just under half a million pound on its 3rd weekend of release.
Released in the UK this weekend, Friday, 24th February 2023, there are 3 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania from the top of the UK box office.
