Taking on the Christmas action crown this year is Dwayne Johnson who stars in the action comedy Red One which has been given a 12A age rating for moderate violence, implied strong language.

Dwayne Johnson has become a massive lead star over the past few years with starring roles in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, the movie also stars Chris Evans who seems to be every where at the moment and has been in movies such as Captain America: Civil War and Snowpiercer.

THe movie is directed by Jake Kasdan who has previously directed Bad Teacher and Orange County.

A battle for the top of the UK box office happened this weekend and where Furiosa was the favourite to win it ended up with The Garfield Movie topping the UK box office.

The big orange cat this week took £2.1 Million at the UK box office, compared to the last big screen Garfield movie, Garfield 2 from 2006, this is higher as that movie took £739,560.

Making a new entry at number 2 is the latest in the now long running Mad Max saga, Furiosa which just misses out on a place at he top having taken just under £2 Million on its debut.

Last weeks number 1 film, IF~2024 falls to number 3 this weekend after a single week at the top and has taken £4.6 Million to date.
