UK Box Office Weekend Report 4th - 6th October 2024: Joker 2 takes the top spot on its debut weekend with over £5.5 Million weekend gross Despite the less than favorable reviews the sequel movie Joker: Folie a Deux has received, the follow up to a massive smash hiw is always going to be big in its first few weeks, and the Joker follow up is no different.

The movie takes a decent £5.6 Million over its debut weekend to replace Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at the top, but the Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga starring movies stay at the top might be short lived!

After 4 weeks at the top b>Beetlejuice Beetlejuice falls to number 2 this weekend with a £1.1 Million weekend gross.

The movie now on its 5th weekend of release has taken an excellent £22.7 Million at the UK box office.

Lady GaGa has today, 4th August 2022, revealed, via a short video, that she will be in the sequel movie Joker: Folie a Deux.

The follow up to the 2019 Joker~2019 movie is one again set to be directed and written by Todd Phillips and star the Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker.

The new movie is set for release on 4th October 2024 and will be based mainly in Arkham City, the mental institution in Gotham City within the Batman Universe.

GaGa is set to play Harley Quinn, a role made famous by Margot Robbie in the recent Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn movies, but this movie is set in a different universe, or Multiverse you could say!

Filming will start soon, once Todd Phillips has finished the script, ready for its 2024 release.

Released in the UK this weekend, Friday, 24th December 2021, there are 3 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Spider-Man: No Way Home from the top of the UK box office.
