The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had a hard tome of late after 20 years of hit after hit, but Thunderbolts from earlier this year hit the mark just about right and now we get The Fantastic Four: First Steps hitting the top of the North American box office.
The new movie brings in a new 'phase' of the ling running series of movies and is the long awaited arrival of The Fantastic Four to the Disney franchise.
The movie hits the top of the box office with a weekend gross of $118 Million, better than Spider-Man: Homecoming but not as good at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but the movie has already taken more that The Marvels.
After 2 weeks at the top Superman~2025 falls to number 2 and has taken a very nice $289.5 Million total gross to date.
