The Creed franchise is now starting to get as many movies as the Rocky franchise which gave birth to it, but here we are with the third movie which makes an incredible debut with $58 Million.
The movie is directed by its star Micheal B. Jordan and with the film being well received by audiences a Creed IV may not be far behind, interestingly Rocky IV was one of that series most popular movies.
After a couple of weeks at the top the third in the Ant-Man series of movies falls to number 3 with a gross of $12.4 Million for the weekend.

Disney release their big holiday animation Ralph Breaks The Internet over the American Thanksgiving weekend and along with Creed II also making its debut and strong holdovers it makes for a record weekly take with the top 10 grossing over $200 million.
The latest Disney movie had plenty of hype and hence opens at the top of the US box office with a $55 million 3 day weekend and an $85 million 5 day weekend which includes the Wednesday and Thursday of Thanksgiving
This means that the new Ralph film is running $15 million ahead of its 2012 predecessor over the same period and should end up grossing far more in the long run.
The follow up to Creed from 2015 and spiritual follow up to Rocky IV from 1986 the Micheal B. Jordan starring movie opens at number 2 with a $35 million opening 3 days and a $55 million 5 day Thanksgiving.

After opening big last weekend the new Fantastic Beasts film runs into trouble this week and falls hard to number 4 with a weekend gross of just $29.6 million which brings the films 10 gross to a relatively poor $117 million.

One film that has not done too well on its debut weekend is the new Robin Hood movie starring Taron Egerton which limps onto the box office chart at number 7 with a poor $9.1 million gross.
Looking like a true sequel to 1986's Rocky IV this sequel to 2016's Creed puts Apollo Creed's Son against Ivan Drago's son.
For those who don't remember Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed in the ring before being defeated by Rocky Balboa at the end of the film.
The BBFC have given Creed II a 12A rating for moderate violence, language and the film has a run time of 130 minutes (2hrs 10 Minutes).

The Rocky films have in a small way gone against the grain of sequels not being as good as the previous film and Rocky IV was a great film, now 30 years later Rocky and Ivan Drago face off again.
This time its in the spin off Creed series starring Sylvester Stallone as Balboa and Micheal B. Jordan as Apollo Creed's son Adonis.
This time Adonis faces off against Drago's son Viktor Drago.
The trailer is exciting and brings back many memories of the old Rocky series, the film is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and released in the UK on 30th November 2018.
