Also new on the top 5 this weekend is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - To the Swordsmith Village at number 4 while the new Guy Ritchie movie Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre makes its debut at 7 with £3.1 Million while Indina movie RRR is new at 15 with an RRR Fan CelebRRRation which makes its debut with $197,003.
Highest new movie this weekend
The Creed franchise is now starting to get as many movies as the Rocky franchise which gave birth to it, but here we are with the third movie which makes an incredible debut with $58 Million.
The movie is directed by its star Micheal B. Jordan and with the film being well received by audiences a Creed IV may not be far behind, interestingly Rocky IV was one of that series most popular movies.
After a couple of weeks at the top the third in the Ant-Man series of movies falls to number 3 with a gross of $12.4 Million for the weekend.
The 'based on a true story' movie falls to number 3 this weekend after making its debut at number 2 with a weekend take of $11 Million, a large 52% drop.
Following on from the 2020 movie Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train the latest movie in the series makes its US debut at 4 with $10 Million, half that of its predecessor.
The faith based movie has a decent second weekend on the US box office falling to number 5 with a 44% drop in weeeknd grosses for a total of $30 Million.
Sequel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes its debut at the top of the US box office with a debut gross of over $181 Millon, it is also the only new entry on the top 15 this weekend.

As wil all Marvel/Disney movies in the modern cinema age, the Black Panther sequel makes its debut at the top of the North American box office.
The movies makes its debut with a gross of $181.3 Million, a very substantial gross for a November movie release, but lower than that of the first movie.
Black Panther, which was released in the February of 2018, took a fantastic $202 Million on its debut.
The movie has instantly become the 8th top grossing movie of 2022 on its release.
The DC super hero movie starring Dwayne Johnson falls from the top to number 2 this weekend with a weekend gross of $8 Millon, a 56% drop over last week.
The movie has now taken $150.5 Million in North America after 4 weeks of release and is the 10th top grossing movie of 2022.
Surprise hit of the season starrring George Clooney and Julie Roberts in a romantic comedy remains at number 3 this weekend with $5.9 Million, a small 31% drop over last week.
This gives the movie a total gross of $56.3 Million after 4 weeks of release.
The Children's book adaptation jumps back up the box office from number 6 to 4 this weekend with $3.2 Million, a tiny 5% drop over last week.>
THe movie has taken an excellent $40.8 Million in North America after 6 weeks of release.
As the horror movie of the season starts to loose steam this this weekend and falls to number 5 it takes $2.3 Million, a modest 41% drop over last week.
This gives the movie a total gross of $102 Million as it passes a massive milestone in North America after 7 weeks of release.
Horror movie Barbarian~2022 makes its debut at the top of the North American box office this weekend while Indian movie Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva is also new coming in at number 2.
Further down the box office there are new entries for Lifemark at number 7 with $2.2 Million and Medieval at number 14 with $810,000.
Highest new movie this weekend
The celebrated horror movie from director Zach Cregger who also directed Miss March in 2009 hits the top of the North American box office on its debut weekend of release.
In a very quiet weekend for the box office through lack of high profile releases the movie takes $10 Million on its debut.
Despite that fact the Indian movie RRR was a bit hit earlier this year in North American it is not that common for Hindi speaking film to do well in America, but given the lack of new movie this movie from director Ayan Mukerji hits number 2 on its debut.
The movie takes $4.4 Million this weekend, in comparison RRR tool $9.5 Million in March landing at number 3, but it was a far busier period for the box office.
The Brad Pitt starring movie falls to number 3 this weekend with a gross of $3.2 Million, a large 43% drop but it is on its 6th weekend of release.
The movie has taken a total of $92.5 Million at the North American box office as it looks at the $100 Million milestone.
The biggest movie of the year, so far, drops to number 4 this weekend after hitting the top spot on the last weekend of the summer, this weekend it takes $3.1 Million which is a 47% drop over last weekend, still not bad for a movie on its 16th weekend of release.
This gives the movie a total gross in North America of $705.6 Million which means it is, and most likely will be, the top movie of 2022, the movie has also made its way into the top 5 movies of all time in America as its sits at number 5.
It has a long way to go to get any higher with Avatar sitting at number 4 with $760.5 Million, this seems out of reach for a movie which is coming to the end of its box office life, but I wouldn't write off this movie to do anything just yet!
The animated movie from Warner Bros. falls to number 5 this weekend with $2.8 Million on its 7th weekend, a 44% drop giving it a total North American gross of $85.4 Million.
Released in the UK this weekend, Friday, 9th September 2022, there are 7 new releases looking to take your attention and where available could hit your local cinema and try and replace Minions: The Rise of Gru from the top of the UK box office.

World box office top 5 weekend breakdown 1st - 3rd April 2022
Sony continue their run of Spiderverse villains following in the same vein as Venom as Jared Leto leto becomes scientist who tries to find a cure for his medical condition and becomes a vampire type creature.
The movie takes $85 Million globally on its debut from 63 countries, a figure reflective of the critical panning the movie got and the bad word of mouth.
This movie could be a mis-step for the successful Spiderverse movies and the almost guaranteed sequel must now be in question.
Released in 31 countries, presumably to stop a clash with Morbius in many territories, the blue hedgehog video game hero makes its debut at number 2 with $25.2 Million.
The movie gets a far wider release next weekend and its likely we'll see it climb to the top of the global box office.
Five weeks on fro the caped crusader as the movie slips to number 3 on the global box office with a weekend gross of $24 Million from 77 countries, a 47% drop giving the movie a total gross of $7120.5 Million.
The movie has been a major success for the DC universe and a sequel is all but guaranteed, but considering we just has Spider-Man: No Way Home almost hit $2 Billion globally Warner Bros. must be feeling a little upset the movie didn't get to go over the Billion milestone!
The smash hit Indian period drama falls to number 4 this weekend after its impressive debut at 3 last weekend, this week it takes $22.7 Million from 21 countries, a 41% drop over last weekend, giving the movie a total of $112 Million.
Dropping to number 5 this weekend after its number 2 debut last weekend the Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum action comedy takes $16.7 Million from 18 countries on its second weekend, a 52% drop, giving the movie a total of $61.5 Million.
In comparison Channing Tatum's last movie Dog, released only a few weeks ago had taken over $35 Million total by its second weekend of release globally, although this movie is due to open in quite a few territories still.
