The Disney sequel movie Moana 2 has stormed the United Kingdom box office as it debuts at the top with a weekend gross of £12 Million.

This is about £10 Million more than the original Moana movie which took in 2016 when it made its debut a the same time of year.

Any other weekend Wicked~2024 would have stayed at the top of the box office with a second weekend gross of £8.3 Million, but the Disney sequel was just too strong.

Still the musical adaptation only falls to number 2 and the weeks ahead look to be strong and a battle between this and Moana 2 over the holiday period could be on the cards.

THe whole of the top 5 this weekend took over £1 Million each something which is still quite rare in the UK and hasn't happened since the weekend of August 16th 2024.
