Hitting the top of the box office with ease this weekend is Paddington in Peru as it powers ahead of the crowd with a £9.6 Million debut weekend.
With the current state of the box office in general and movies available on streaming within months of theatrical releases is nice to see a third movie in a series out preform its predecessor.
Paddington 2 made its debut in 2017 and took just over £8 Million, Paddington from 2014 took just over £5 Million so this is a series high.
Coming in at number 2 this weekend is the Christmas movie Red One from Amazon Studios, once scheduled for a streaming only release the movie lands in the UK with nearly £2.5 Million and hits number 2.
Last weeks top movie, The Wild Robot falls to number 5 this weekend and has a total gross of £12.7 Million after 4 weeks.

Spending a third weekend at the top of the North American box office this weekend Venom: The Last Dance which takes $16.2 Million over the weekend.
The movie has now taken a total gross of $114 Million as the movie cruises past the $100 Million mark in the US.
Top new movie of the weekend is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever which makes its debut at number 2 with $11 Million.

Over the British half term week The Wild Robot returns to the top of the UK box office after a week at number 2 allowing Venom: The Last Dance to take the top spot for a week.
The animated hit spends its second - non-consecutive - weekend at the top with a Monday to Friday gross of £2.1 Million.
This takes the movies total gross after 3 weeks to £11.6 Million.
Venom: The Last Dance falls to number 2 after a single weekend at the top and has a total of £9.1 Million.
Highest new movie of the weekend is the horror movie Heretic starring Hugh Grant which debuts at number 4 with a nearly £2 Million gross.

Spending a second weekend at the top of the US box office this weekend is the Spider-verse movie Venom: The Last Dance which takes $26.1 Million.
The movie has now taken a very respectable $90 Million over 2 weeks of release, the lowest of the Venom series but not bad for the Spider-verse series which is dying in the cinema.
The new Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks Collaboration Here is the top new movie of the weekend landing at 5 with $5 Million.
