Compared to Man of Steel from 2013 this is lower with that movie taking £11 Million on its debut.
Comparing it to other Superman movies, its higher that the 2006 Bryan Singer movie Superman Returns which scraped in just over £4 Million and the classic 1978 Superman starring Christopher Reeves took just over a million on its debut which would be just over £4 Million adjusted for inflation - but cinema was very different back then.

A new trailer has been released for next years Superman reboot Man of Steel, and unlike the previous effort this one shows promise.
The film looks grittier, meaner and tougher than 2006's Superman Returns, the film is taking a very different approach than that of the classic Christopher Reeve films, unlike the 2006 effort.
This could be good news, but then the trailers for Superman Returns looked good and that was utter rubbish so maybe we'll reserve judgement until release date which is 14th June 2013, until then enjoy the trailer.
