Trilogy movie Halloween Ends tops the US box office on its debut weekend in North America ending the 2 week run of Smile~2022, it is also the only new entry on this weeks chart.

Highest new movie this weekend

As the Halloween season comes into full swing the horror movies hit the big screen, Smile~2022 has been a big hit at the box office and now we get the end(!) of the Halloween series.

Directed like the previous 2 by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis the movie takes $41 Million on its debut weekend in North America.

This is the lowest of the series, but like the previous movie it can be seen on streaming as well as in movie theatres.

What seems to be the horror movie to see this season, the Parker Finn directed movie falls from the top after 2 weeks with a $12 Million third weekend, a relatively good 33% drop.

This gives the movie a total gross of $71 Million in North America after 3 weeks of release.

Falling to number 2 this weekend is the movie based on the children's book this takes $7.3 Million this weekend, a 35% drop.

The movie has now taken $22.7 Million after 2 weeks of release.

Proving to be a big hit for star Viola Davis the based on a true story movie takes $3.6 Million on its fifth weekend of release, a small 29% drop.

This gives the movie a total US gross of $59.7 Million after 5 weeks of release.

The massively criticised movie with a stella cast of Hollywood A listers falls to number 5 this weekend with $2.8 Million on its second weekend of release, a 55% drop over last weekend.

The movie has taken $11.9 Million over its 2 weeks of release and looks like it will drop out of the box office chart quite quickly.

The Woman King makes its debut this weekend at the top of the North American box office while horror movie Pearl is also new at number 3 and See How They Run~2022 is one place behind at number 4.

Outside the top 5 there is Moonage Daydream, the David Bowie documentary making its debut at 10 with $1.2 Million and Running the Bases a new entry at 15 with $538,749.

Highest new movie this weekend

Making its way to the top of the North American box office on its debut weekend is the Viola Davis starring movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.

The movie starts its box office run with a debut gross of $19 Million.

After making its debut at the top last weekend the horror movie from director Zach Cregger falls 38% to number 2 with a gross of $6.5 Million.

This gives the movie a total gross of $21 Million after 2 weeks of release.

Director Ti West releases his second movie in the X horror series which lands on the box office at number 2 with a debut gross of $3.1 million.

The previous movie in the series from March of this year landed at number 4 with $4.4 Million.

Coming in at number 4 this weekend is the comedy murder mystery that stars Saoirse Ronan and is directed by Tom George.

the movie lands on the North American box office at number 4 this weekend with $3 Million.

Finally on the top 5 this week is the Brad Pitt starring movie that falls from number 3 with a weekend gross of $2.5 Million, a 23% drop on its 7th weekend.

The movie has a total US gross of $96.4 Million as it tries to reach the $100 Million milestone which it could do by next weekend.

New Disney movie Encanto is the top new movie of the weekend globally as it makes its debut with an impressive debut while House of Gucci also impresses with a number 3 new entry.

Just outside the top 5 Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is new at number 6 with a $10.3 Million opening weekend.

Global box office top 5 breakdown weekend 26th - 28th November 2021

Encanto

The latest Disney animated features makes it debut at the top of the global box office this week after a release in 48 countries.

The movie takes $56.3 Million on its debut weekend but with a release over the thanksgiving period in the UK it has taken $69.9 Million to date.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The Ghostbusters sequel movie falls to number 2 after a week at the top with a weekend gross of $13.1 Million from 41 countries, a 45% drop over last weekend.

This pushes the movies total gross over its 2 weekends of release to $115.7 Million.

House of Gucci

Directed by Ridley Scott and starring a host of big names including Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, the based on a true story movie enters the global box office at number 3 this weekend.

Released in 41 countries the movie movie takes $27 Million on its debut weekend and has taken $34.7 Million to date having been released over the Thanksgiving week.

Be Somebody

The Chinese hit movie falls to number 4 this weekend with $21 Million, an 8% drop, and its still only released in a single country, the movie has taken $94 Million to date.

Eternals

The latest marvel movie drops to number 5 this weekend with a gross of $18.1 Million from 50 countries, this is a 46% drop over last weekend and puts the movies total at $368.4 Million after 4 weeks of release.
