$307.2 Million At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 4th September 2020, there are 4 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Tenet from the top of the UK box office.

All change at the top of the UK box office this week with drama Paper Towns taking over at the top leaving last weeks top film to take a huge tumble.
Paper Town is from the same author as last years hit The Fault in Our Stars which topped the UK box office in June of 2014.
Paper Town hasn't debuted as impressively as the £3 million plus of The Fault in Our Stars with a £2 million debut weekend.
Last weeks top film takes a huge tumble down to 6 this week with an £800,000 second weekend which brings it's total to £4.7 million.
Although Paper Towns is the top film of the weekend once again Inside Out, at number 2, is the top film of the week with a Monday - Sunday total or £3.2 million.
Top grossing film on the box office this week is Minions with a total gross of £44 million over 9 weeks of release.

A year ago - Lucy was on top of the box office on it's debut weekend knocking The Inbetweeners 2 down to 2nd.
Five years ago - The Expendables is the top new film of the week making number 1 while Toy Story 3 falls from the top to number 3.
Ten years ago - Charlie and The Chocolate Factory remained at the top of the box office for another week while the top new film was Bewitched which entered at 2.
Fifteen years ago - The first X-Men movie made its debut at the top knocking Gone In 60 Seconds down to number 3.
Twenty years ago - Die Hard With A Vengeance, the third Die Hard film, was new at the top knocking Waterworld down to number 3.
Twenty five years ago - Another Die Hard film, Die Hard 2 Die Harder was at the top on its debut knocking Days of Thunder into the number 2 spot.
Commanding the box office in even greater fashion than last week Jurassic World scores the second highest second weekend gross in the UK, the holder being Skyfall from 2012.
With £11 million Jurassic World takes it's total gross to £38.5 million and should see it become the highest grossing film of the year by next weekend.
Rolling into second place on it's debut is the event film Take That Live, recoded earlier this year at the O2 arena in London the film grosses £965,000 on its Saturday only showing.
Highest new ‘film' of the week is new at number 4, the ever popular charter of Sherlock Holmes is played by Ian McKellen in Mr. Holes which debuts with £741.080.

Five years ago - Killers starring Aston Kutcher debuted at the top finally knocking Sex and The City 2 down to number 2 after 3 weeks at the top.
Ten years ago - The Batman revamp Batman Begins made it's debut at the top while the previous weeks top film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, fell into second place.
Fifteen years ago - Gladiator was still holding onto the top position while the top new film of the week was Frequency.
Twenty years ago - Action film Bad Boys was the top film across the country which knocked The Brady Bunch Movie down to number 2.

Another change on the UK video chart this week with tearjerking drama The Fault in Our Stars taking over at the top of the chart on it's first week of release.
The Fault in Our Stars was released at UK cinemas on 20th June this year taking £3.4 million on it's opening weekend where it entered at the top of the box office.
A six week stay on the box office saw it take a total gross of £11 million most of which happened in the first 3 weeks of release.
Falling from the top position to the runner up on it's second week of release is Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie.
The HobbitL The Desolation of Smaug was released in special extended edition last week and in turn re-enters the video chart at three.
