This weekends box office is going to be an interesting watch. The global coronavirus will do a couple of things to cinemas attendance, it is keeping people at home as they self isolate and in many countries including the UK and US cinema owners have shut their doors to help prevent the spread of the virus.
At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 20th March 2020, there are 2 new releases, originally there were more, including A Quiet Place Part II which would have made the box office look different, but many film have been put back to later this year or next year.
Can either of these two movie knock Onward from the top of the UK box office chart?
First up at cinemas this week is The Jesus Rolls, directed by John Turturro who also directed Mac in 1992.
It stars John Turturro who last starred in Gloria Bell (2019).
The film also stars Bobby Cannavale who last appeared in Motherless Brooklyn (2019).
Next on this weeks new release schedule is Radioactive.
This new movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy who's last film was Emma (2020)
It also stars Rosamund Pike who appeared in The Informer (2019).
The film is brought to us by 2 time director Marjane Satrapi.

At the UK box office this weekend, Friday, 13th March 2020, there are 5 new releases looking to take your attention at the local multiplex and knock Onward from the top of the UK box office chart next week.
First up at cinemas this week is Bloodshot, directed by Dave Wilson who also directed Energy Crisis in 1974.
It stars Vin Diesel who last starred in Avengers: Endgame (2019).
The film also stars Eiza Gonzalez who last appeared in Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs And Shaw (2019).
Next on this weeks new release schedule is Misbehaviour.
This new movie stars Keira Knightley who's last film was Official Secrets (2019)
It also stars Jessie Buckley who appeared in Dolittle (2020).
The film is brought to us by 2 time director Philippa Lowthorpe.
Next up this week is My Spy which is directed by Peter Segal who directed Naked Gun 33 ⅓: The Final Insult in 1994.
It stars Dave Bautista and Chloë Coleman.
Also this week there is And Then We Danced from director Levan Akin marking a directorial debut.
The film features Levan Gelbakhiani and Bachi Valishvili in starring roles.
The long list of new releases continues with The Hunt which is directed by Craig Zobel who directed Compliance in 2013.
It stars Hilary Swank and Ike Barinholtz.

Next week there is 1 new release in the shape of The Jesus Rolls which is in cinemas on Friday, 20th March.
The Big Lebowski is getting a sequel of sorts in the shape of The Jesus Rolls which is directed by Jesus Quintana actor John Turturro.
Following on 22 years after the original Coen Brothers directed movie this follows the fortunes of the title character Jesus Quintana as played by John Turturro.
As the character was an ace bowler this is a bowling based movie and along for the rise are Christopher Walken, Susan Surandon and Jon Hamm to name a few.
The film gets a cinema release and an online streaming release on 6th March 2020.
