There is never a time like Christmas to bring peace on earth, new movie Violent Night doesn't think so! The BBFC has given the movie a 15 age rating in the UK for strong bloody violence, gore, language, sex references.
The movie stars David Harbour who was previously seen in Black Widow in 2021 and and the 2019 remake of Hellboy, it also stars Beverly D'Angelo who is most famous for being the mother in the National Lampoons movies, in particular that Christmas classic National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
The movie is directed by Tommy Wirkola who is best known for directing Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters but also directed The Trip in 2021.

There is still no official box office being reported in the US but from the drive-in theatres that are reporting The Wretched spends an amazing fourth weekend at the top with We Summon The Darkness reported at the top new film.
Here is a breakdown of the top 5 films.
The movie expanded from 21 theatres to 59 this weekend and in the process remained the top film with a weekend take of $186K.
This puts the film total gross at $548.6K and it has to be asked if the movie can make it to $1 Million, maybe just from drive-in's.
Directed by Marc Meyers and starring Alexandra Daddario and Keean Johnson, this supernatural horror movie takes a respectable $30.2K on its debut.
A couple of familiar faces pop up at number 3 as a new entry as Director Michael Winterbottom continues his 'The Trip To' series.
This is the fourth in the series and all star Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon mainly having a chat over dinner, this entry enters the US box office with $1.1K.
Directed by Coky Giedroyc this comedy spends its third weekend on the box office with $1K taking its total to $67.5K.
Finishing off the US box office this week is the Justin Kurzel directed movie which take $324 for a $450.5K total.
After 3 weeks of no change at the top of the US box office The Perfect Guy comes in and takes over on it's debut weekend of release.
The critically panned The Perfect Guy enters the box office after one of the worst weekends for the American cinema, $26.7 million sees it reach the top.

Straight Outta Compton
which has its fourth week of release and is now at number 6.The Trip Hop inspired movie took another $4 million over the weekend bringing its total US gross to an amazing $155.7 million over it's 4 week run.
Highest total grossing film on the US box office is the Tom Cruise starring
Mission Impossible Rogue Nation
which has not spent 7 weeks on the box office in total, all inside the top 5 and has grossed an excellent $188.1 million.With figures for global box office falling quite low this week the Trip Hop hit Straight Outta Compton bounces back to the top.
Now released in 14 countries Compton took $16.7 million last week to bring it's global total to $168 million, most of that business being in the US.
Last week top film Terminator Genisys takes a tumble this week after its better than expected showing in China and ends up at 6 with $11.6 million from 8 countries, global total is now $435.8 million.
Highest new film of the week is The Transporter Refueled which enters at number 7 with $11.1 million from 19 countries.
The reboot of the popular Transporter series has not set the world alight and sill struggle to stay with the pending holiday season coming.
Highest total grossing film on the global box office this week is Minions which has not taken just over $1 Billion and is still playing in 58 countries, this week is sits at number 4.
