Here are this weeks new releases
Check back on Monday to see what new movies made it onto the Weekend Box Office Chart.
The first trailer and poster has finally been released for upcoming movie sequel Thor: Love and Thunder which can seen in full if you scroll down this page.
This is the closest to an MCU movie release the studio has got before releasing a tailer and teaser poster, it is probably down to the shifting schedules of the last couple of year, especially that of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which is due in a months time.
Check out the Salty Popcorn movie page for more information on this upcoming film.
Two big franchises chose this weekend to release their latest episodes and despite Jigsaw which is part of the Saw series doing well Thor: Ragnarok was the clear winner.
The Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a mammoth series of films that simply cant be matched at the moment and the all star Avengers cars in Thor 3 (try saying that fast) debuts with an incredible £12.3 million making it the 47th top opening in the UK ever.
The film which stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor and is directed by exciting newcomer Taika Waititi joins the ever increasing lineup of Marvel movies and the ever increasing gross for Disney.
The future for the film looks good and, this is nearly double the opening of Thor: The Dark World which went on to gross £20 million so we could have a £35 - 40 million total UK gross.
New in the runner up position is the latest Saw film, this time by the name go Jigsaw, its actually the 8th Saw movie, and opens with £1.8 million.
This is a bit of a low for the series as the average opening for a Saw movie is about £2 - 3 million, but with Halloween this week it will see a boost, but then a big slump after, it could get to £5 million in total.
After a jump back to the top Blade Runner 2049 falls to number 5 with week with £0.6 million over the weekend, after 4 weeks of release this brings the films total to £17.4 million.
Also new this weekend was Breathe, a directorial debut from Andy Serkis starring former Spider-Man Andrew Garfield, it enters at number 8.
With Despicable Me 3 making a reappearance on the UK box office it is once again the longest running film with 17 weeks and the highest total grossing movie with £47.5 million .
