$9 Million
$3.6 Million The box office is officially swinging back into action. This weekend, Sony and Marvel Studios are finally launching the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day across the UK. Thanks to Wednesday and Thursday preview screenings, the web-slinger has already scooped up an astonishing £5.82 million.
That jaw-dropping figure locks it in as the second-highest pre-screening take in UK cinema history. The ultimate box office crown is still safely held by Avengers: Endgame, which brought in a massive £11.9 million during its 2019 debut.
While Spidey couldn't quite topple Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the UK, it absolute crushed them in North America. Spider-Man: Brand New Day completely rewrote the history books by pulling in $72 million over its Thursday previews. That effortlessly bypassed Avengers: Endgame, which previously held the record at $60 million.
With massive hype following Peter Parker's new grounded reality, the film is currently tracking toward a monumental global opening weekend. Some bullish predictions even suggest a worldwide debut pushing past $900 million.
