Coming in also on the top 5 is new comedy BROS which has surprised many by making its debut at 5 while Ponniyin Selvan: I is new at 6 with $4 Million, Vikram Vedha~2022 is new at 12 with $986,172 and finally The Good House is new at 15 with $797,309.
Highest new movie this weekend
Making a mark on the horror genre is the new movie from director Parker Finn which after the reviews and he success of this movie, and the low budget, it will spawn a number of sequels.
The movie makes its debut at the top of the US box office with a very good $22 Million opening.
The troubled movie directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Florence Pugh falls to number 2 this weekend with a gross of $6.84 Million, a fairly hefty 65% drop over its debut last weekend.
This gives the movie a total gross of $12 Million after 2 weeks of release.
Three weeks in for the Viola Davis starring movie wich this weeks falls to number 3 with $6.82 Million, a 38% drop over last week.
It only just missed out on the number 2 spot with just over $20,000 separating this and Dont Worry Darling.
The movie has a total gross of $46.5 Million after 3 weeks of release.
The 2 week special release of the 2009 movie in 4K drop to number 4 this weekend with a gross of $5 Million, a 52% drop over last weekend.
The movie in its special release format has taken $18.9 Million on its re-release but the movie has taken $779.8 Million since it was released.
Making its debut at number 5 this weekend, despite all the hype and critical acclaim is the Nicholas Stoller directed movie which makes its debut at number 5 with $4.8 Million.
The movie expands into more theatres next weekend which could give it a big boost.
It was a very tight race for the top this weekend as new horror movie Smile~2022 and last weeks number 2 movie Don't Worry Darling battle for the top with the new horror movie just about winning.

As we roll into October the low budget horror movies start to roll in and first off the mark is this movie from writer/director Parker Finn which narrowly lands at the top this weekend.
The movie has been praised by critics for being a low budget horror which is genuinely scary as the movie takes £1.86 Million.
The movie got a jump on the weekend opening on Thursday which added to the movies opening gross, whereas Don't Worry Darling had to rely on Friday - Monday box office, it would have won the weekend had things all been even.
Remaining at number 2 for a second weekend is the Olivia Wilde suburbia sci-fi/drama which takes £1.83 Million on its second weekend, a fairly good 34% drop for the controversial movie.
The movie has taken £6.1 Millon over its 2 weeks of release in the UK and it should feel a bit cheated not to have been a number 1 movie!
After loosing out last weekend with Ticket to Paradise after that movie got a 3 day head start on the weekend, and then just loosing out to Smile~2022 this weekend after that movie got its Thursday previews added to its weekend gross.

The high flying sequel movie spends a second weekend at the top of the UK box office with a jaw dropping second weekend take of £10.3 Million, a very small 35% over its massive debut last weekend.
This gives the Tom Cruise starring movie a total Uk gross of £38 Million after just 10 days of release which makes it the 3rd top movie of 2022, it will be the top movie of the year by next weekend.
The movie takes an amazing 71% of this weeks top 15 movies, down only a little from last weekend where it took 81% of the total box office.
The movie is out doing the previous movie even when taking inflation into consideration and at its current rate its not hard to imagine it becoming one of the top 10 movies of all time.
The MCU sequel movie holds onto to its place at number 2 this weekend where it took £1.15 Million, a small 16% drop.

Highest new movie of the weekend is the Indian movie Vikram which makes its debut at 7 with $1.7 Million, also new this weekend is David Cronenberg new movie Crimes of the Future with $1.1 Million while Watcher is new at number 11 with $815,000.
After a massive opening weekend the Top Gun sequel was going to stay at the top of the US box office for a second weekend, and it does it in style dropping only 32% from last weekend for a weekend gross of $86 Million.
The movie is proving to be a megga success for Paramount studios, which will make them wonder why they waited 36 years to pruduce a sequel, but perhaps thats why its proving to be a hit, the movie has been getting phenomenal reviews and great word of mouth as not being a formulaic summer blockbuster.
