Although the anticipation for the new Disney film Moana is quite high its not enough to knock off the three time champion Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Fantastic Beast stays put at the top of the Uk box office for its third straight week with an amazing weekend gross of £4.4 million, this brings the films total gross to £37.8 million.

There should be one more weekend at the top for Beast before the Galaxy Far Far Away comes blasting in, but that should be enough to cement the film as one of the years top films.

The film still has a way to go before beating the lowest grossing Potter film which was 2004's Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban which made £45.6 million.

Highest new film of the week then come in at 2, Moana from Disney makes £2.2 million on its UK debut.

Compared to Frozen from Disney which came out at the same time of year in 2013 this is half its debut gross of £4.7 million hence we probably wont see this scaling those heights.

Also new this week is Sully at number 3 with £1.7 million, Pitbull. Niebezpieczne Kobiety at number 5 with £0.4 million, The Edge of Seventeen at 9 with £0.27 million and Bleed For This at number 10 with £0.25 million.

Highest total grossing movie this week is Fantastic beasts and longest run on the box office is Trolls which has been around now for 7 weeks.

Historical Charts

A year ago - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 stayed at the top for a third weekend while the top new film was Christmas With The Coopers at number 5.

Five years ago - Arthur Christmas went to the top of the box office for the first time on its fourth week of release while Happy Feet Two was the top new film.

Ten years ago - Bond stayed at the top for a third week in Casino Royale while the top new film was Flushed Away at number 2.

Fifteen years ago - Spending a third week at the top was Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone while top new film was Zoolander at number 2.

Twenty years ago - The Long Kiss Goodnight was at the top on its debut weekend, it knocked The First Wives Club down to number 2.

Twenty five years ago - Point Break made it 2 weeks at the top while top new film was Hot Shots! at number 3.

This weekend the Sasha Baron Cohen movie Grimsby makes its home video debut a the top of the chart knocking off Deadpool after 2 weeks.

Grimsby was released at the UK box office on 26th February 2016 after a massive marketing campaign it made its debut at number 2.<> The film was not received that well with critics or the public alike and it only managed a 4 week run on the UK box office, but did manage another 8 weeks in cinemas before it ended its run.

Its UK box office gross was £5.2 million which isn't too bad and is fairly typical of a british box office comedy thats not a gigantic hit.

Falling to number 2 this week is the fan favourite Marvel superhero that Disney turned down Deadpool.

The film has had a great run at the top of the video chart and will most likely hang around for quite a while and get another boost when shops discount the film.

Also new this week is Zoolander No 2, the sequel everyone wanted, then no one wanted at number 5, direct to video Underworld Legend of The Jinn at 17 and Secret In Their Eyes at 18.

Marvels latest superhero goes to the top of the UK box office with an incredibly good opening weekend, far better than could have been predicted.

Ryan Reynolds stars in Deadpool which makes its UK box office debut at the top with an incredible £13.6 million debut.

The film which is being distributed by 20th Century Fox rather than Disney beat all expectation and becomes a new franchise for Marvel, a sequel is in the works.

Falling from the top down to number 5 after a single week is Goosebumps which takes just over £1 million pound bringing its total to £4.1.

Also new this week is Alvin and The Chipmunks The Road Chip at number 2 and maybe a little disappointing Zoolander No 2 at number 2.

Highest grossing film on the box office is Star Wars: The Force Awakens which has not taken an amazing £121 million.

Historical charts - A year ago - Valentines day favourite Fifty Shades of Grey made its debut at the top knocking Big Hero 6 into second place.

Five years ago - Gnomeo and Juliet took over the top spot on its debut from The Kings Speech which fell to number 2.

Ten years ago - Chicken Little from Disney was the top film on its debut and with a top 3 of new releases Zathura A Space Adventure fell from the top to number 5.

Fifteen years ago - What Women Want stayed at the top of the box office for a second week while Dude, Where's My Car? was the highest new film at number 2.

Twenty years ago - Heat stayed at the top for a second week while highest new film was Loch Ness at number 4.

Twenty Five years ago - Oscar winning Dances With Wolves was the highest new film at the top while Kindergarten Cop fell to number 2.
