25 years after the original movie which starred Micheal Jordon as the pro basketball player in a toon world comes the sequel which replaces Jordan for LeBron James, and the movie its the top spot on its debut.

Falling to number 4 this weekend is The Fast Saga's latest instalment which takes $7.6 Million, a slim 20% drop from last weekend, for a total os $154.8 Million after 4 weeks, and the second top movie of 2021.
Animated movies have done well during the pandemic but this movie seems to have been overlooked by audiences as the sequel movie falls to 5 with a gross of $7.6 Million, a 30% drop, giving it $154.8 Million after 4 weeks of release.

With such a strong release no other studio has released anything in competition so it is the only new release on the top 15 this weekend.

Falling to number 3 this weekend is the animated sequel which takes $8.7 Million on its second weekend of release, a 50% drop, giving it a $34.7 Million total.
Falling to number 4 this week is the fifth movie in The Purge series which takes $6.7 Million, a 47% drop, giving the movie a 2 week total of $27.4 Million.
The John Krasinski directed movie falls to number 5 this weekend with $3 Million, a 29% drop over last weekend.
The movie has been on the chart for 7 weeks now, all in the top 5, and is the top grossing movie in the US for 2021 with $150.7 Million.

The Chinese movie jumps up to number 2 this weekend as its release in more countries, this week its count is 4 and it takes $21.6 Million, an expected 46% increase from last weekend.
After 2 weeks of release the movie has taken $45.7 Million globally.
The animated sequel makes its global debut this weekend at number 3 with a debut gross of $18.8 Million.
Released in only 9 countries so far the movie will stick around for a while as it opens across the globe.
