As Marvel movies tend to do these days Doctor Strange 2 has entered the box office at the top, and although its not a record breaking entry it is a danm good one.
The movie took an amazing $90 Million (including previews) on Friday alone and went on to take $185 Million by the end of the weekend.
The only movie to have done better in recent times is its spiritual predecessor Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The movie took a massive 85% of this weeks North American box office total taking, and it is already 3rd top movie of 2022.
After spending a couple of weeks at the top the animated feature falls to number 2 this weekend with a gross of $9.7 Million, down 40% over last weekend.
This gives the movie a total US gross of $57.5 Million after 3 weeks of release.
The video game adaption falls to number 3 this weekend with $6.2 Million, a 46% drop over last weekend.
This gives the movie a total US gross of $169.9 Million after 5 weeks of release and its the 4th top movie of 2022.
This third in the Fantastic Beasts series falls to number 4 this weekend with $3.9 Million, a big 52% drop over last weekend.
This gives the movie a total North American gross of just $86 Million after 4 weeks of release, and with the movie being considered a flop the question must be asked as to the continuation of the series, it was supposed to be a 5 movie series!
The movie is the 7th top film of 2022 so far.
The surprise hit of the spring holds its position at number 5 this weekend as the Michelle Yeoh starring movie takes $3.3 Million on its 7th weekend of release, a 40% drop over last weekend.

Director Simon Curtis takes over duties from Michael Engler in the sequel to the aristocratic TV show turned movie series.
Taking £3 Million over the weekend the movie easily takes over from Sonic the hedgehog 2 which returned to the top last weekend.
The movie has not had as good a debut at its predecessor which was released in September 2019 and hit the top with a £5 Million debut, and went on to stay there for 3 weeks, there is a strong suspicion this will be de-throned this coming weekend.
Popularity for the series has waned over the years since the TV show ended but a £10 - 15 Million run is possible for this sequel.

The highest grossing video game adaptation of all time remains at number 2 on this weeks North American box office with a gross of $11.3 Million, a small 27% drop over last weekend.

The third in the Fantastic Beasts is at 3 this weekend with $8.3 Million, a 41% drop over last weekend, giving it a total of $79.5 Million over its 3 weeks of release.

The movie has managed to become a sizeable hit for Warner Bros. despite being the lowest grossing of the Wizarding World movies, its total gross is currently $329.5 Million.
It is the 6th top grossing movie of 2022 to date, it may struggle to stay in the top 10 looking at the rest of the years releases.
